meet the pros
The pros of Taché Racing were personally selected out of over 1000+ members of the Ski/Snowboard Schools of AspenSnowmass. They where chosen not only on their knowledge of skiing and all it’s proper elements, but also because of their vast knowledge of sports in general. Each pro is a maestro on the views and theories of Taché Racing and continuously train to sharpen and develop those philosophies. They are thoroughly committed to developing the resources necessary in producing your best day ever!
Mike Whalley  -  Asst. Pro 4yrs
 
Mike grew up on the icy Eastern slopes of Vermont, skiing at Mount Mansfield Academy as a top-rated Junior Olympic racer, before moving on to Holderness School in New Hampshire, where he raced for three seasons. After graduating from St. Lawrence University with a degree in Economics and Environmental Studies, Mike moved to Aspen in the fall of 2006 to dedicate himself to the sport full time, and to help others realize their inner high-performance skier. Mike Taché  -  Director, Head Pro
 
An Aspen native, Mike hails from a true Aspen skiing dynasty. Father Yvan raced in the 1950 World Championships, brother Mark raced 8 years on the World Cup and on two World Championship teams and brothers Chris and  Yvan Jr were nationally-ranked racers. Mike was a member of the US Development team, raced on the Nor-Am amateur circuit, and did a four year stint on the US Pro Ski Tour. His coaching experience spans 12 years as coach and/or head coach of top JI, JII, and JIII Aspen Valley Ski Club racers, and also Rocky Mountain Regional JI coach on the Nor-Am circuit. Mike spent the 90’s coaching adult Rossignol Race Camps at Mammoth Mountain as well as top regional athletes at summer race camps in Italy, California, and Oregon. Mike developed the Aspen Masters 2000 program  which evolved into Taché Racing seven years ago.  miketache@tacheracing.com
